A wonderful new arrival - 09:00 am, Mon 15th Mar 2010
I visited the Royal Anne Maternity Unit at the Royal Bolton Hospital a couple of weeks ago and I must say that I was very impressed. I got to see first hand the new developments that are being put into place thanks to £20million of investment by the Government to make the facility into our new super centre. I heard from the staff how this will benefit the people of Bolton.
This will bring over 400 new jobs to the town, which is excellent, but even more important is that it will raise the quality of service for everyone.
New over night facilities for parents will make the sometimes stressing process a little easier, and new medical equipment to handle the sickest babies will give all of our children the best chance of a safe arrival.
It was a real privilege to meet some our hard working NHS staff and I’m pleased to see that this vital service is being given the extra support that it deserves.
