Mecca Bingo Breightmet - 10:43 am, Thu 29th Oct 2009

 I recently visited the Mecca Bingo Club in Breightmet to listen to the concerns of the members and staff regarding the Bingo Tax.

This is an issue I have been following closely for a while now and I have been in contact with the Manager and many of the staff and members of Mecca Bingo for some time.

The issue of Bingo Tax is one which affects many of the people I have met and spoken to and I will continue to voice their concerns in Parliament and with the Minister.

Labour wins Crompton by-election - 01:20 pm, Mon 5th Oct 2009

Congratulations to Guy Harkin on winning Crompton Ward for Labour in the recent by-election. Thank you also to all the people who vote Labour.

The turnout was 31% and the Labour vote was 1538 and gave Councillor Harkin a majority 593.

I am looking forward to working with Councillor Harkin and the rest of the Crompton team in building on this success and securing my return as your MP at the next election.
