Thank you to everyone who took the time to email me over the last few weeks to give your recommendations for the best pub in Bolton North East.
It was a pleasure to read everyone’s recommendations. They were the perfect example of why I am a keen supporter of our pubs. Loneliness is a growing problem across society and that will only get worse if we don’t have spaces for people to socialise. I think it’s better for everyone to meet up and have a good time rather than having people binging at home on cheap drink from the supermarket.
I’ve been through them all and I can now reveal which pub I will be nominating for the coveted UK Parliamentary Pub of the Year competition.
The Nook and Cranny in Bromley Cross.
The Nook and Cranny was the overwhelming favourite. Not only did it have the most recommendations but people wrote with passion about the important role this pub plays in their local community.
The pub only opened in March of this year but locals spoke highly of the positive impact it has had on the village. As well as the huge range of beers and ciders the pub offers a welcoming family atmosphere where people can meet and have a good chat.
The Nook and Cranny will now go on to compete with pubs across the country and hopefully bring the prize back to Bolton North East. Best of luck!
