David Crausby Labour MP for Bolton North East
Today I had the chance to speak at Digital, Culture, Media and Sports Questions, you can watch my exchange with a Minister from the department in the video above.
I’ve long campaigned for improved funding for grassroots football. The issue came back onto the national agenda when the FA announced plans to sell Wembley Stadium and pump the profits back into the grassroots game. That sale has collapsed, but the need for funds remains.
To add some context to the video: I submitted a question to the Ministers in advance. This was number 7 on the list of selected questions, so when I say number 7 at the start of the video I am actually asking “Whether he has made an assessment of the implications for grassroots football of the failure of the proposed sale of Wembley stadium?” After the Minister’s response I have the chance to ask a further question.
