I know that many local residents are concerned about the rising problem of crime across Bolton.
I’ve heard from many people frustrated about the speed of police responses to reports, if they even see an officer at all.
Police should not be forced to choose which crimes to ignore, there should be enough officers to do the job. The reduction in officer numbers mean that is not the case. I know that when residents have raised concerns about drug dealing hotspots in the community they have been told that there are other priorities, and that is just one example of many crimes that are being allowed to slip through the net.
The Prime Minister was the Home Secretary responsible for starting the cuts to our police and now she has ultimate responsibility for the saftey of the British people. I questioned her at PMQs this week over this unacceptable situation. You can watch our full exchange on the video above.
