Pouring a pint of Flat Cap at the Elephant and Castle
Pouring a pint of Flat Cap at the Elephant and Castle

I recently visited the Elephant & Castle pub in the town centre and their adjoining nightclub venue Popworld, to see behind the scenes of a £195,000 investment in the site which completed at the end of last year.

I’ve always been a supporter of pubs and clubs and I’d love for Bolton to have a thriving evening and night time economy. So it’s great to see a business like the Elephant and Castle investing in Bolton and the future of the town’s nightlife.

I met General Manager, Steve Coyle, and Area Manager, Craig Southall who gave me a tour of the venue.

I was particularly impressed by the pub’s leadership on the Best Bar None scheme which brings local businesses together to raise standards of best practice and tackle issues like antisocial behaviour and ensure that Bolton is a safe and welcoming place to have a few drinks.

You can find out more about Best Bar None and the participating venues here – http://bbnuk.com/schemes/bolton/

And if you do call in to the Elephant & Castle, be sure to sample the local beers on tap like Bank Top’s Flat Cap which is made here in Bolton North East.
