Every Friday for months now I’ve received an email from Northern at the end of the day with a list of pre-cancelled trains for the following Sunday. I’ve done my best to get this out on social media so that people can plan ahead.
I wrote about this back in January when I asked for an explaination from northern and it’s clear that they’re unable to manage their workforce in a way that all services on the timetable are covered.
It looks like they’re taking a new approach. The email below shows their new plan to remove some Sunday services from the timetable as a “temporary” measure.
I asked when a full Sunday service would resume. I was told “we anticipate in the summer”.
