Theresa May will be replaced as Prime Minister in a few weeks’ time, but she should still be held accountable for the failings of her Government.
Throughout her tenure as Prime Minister, Bolton residents have suffered every single day with a terrible train service. The Department for Transport has repeatedly failed to hold rail operators like Northern to account and often show complete disinterest in the lived experiences of commuters in the North of England.
This week I had my 6th chance to question Mrs May at a session of Prime Ministers Questions, it will likely be my final chance.
I chose to highlight the railways because whoever takes over needs to learn from the failures of this Government and take this matter seriously. We need our government to prioritise the redistribution of power, investment and resources to the North.
