Happy Birthday NHS

This past weekend marked the 66th anniversary of the creation of the National Health Service. The creation of the NHS is not only one of Labour’s greatest achievements but something that the whole country can be proud of. We have a lot to celebrate as we look back over the last 66 years.

However, I am worried about the future of our NHS and I am working hard to protect it.

I am pleased to support Labour’s plan to repeal the Health and Social Care Act if we are elected in 2015. This Act is forcing different parts of the NHS to compete with each other, when the whole system should be collaborating and more integrated in order to provide the very best possible care to everyone. It also opened the door for more privatisation, putting cost ahead of real value, and I want to see that reversed too.

If you share my concerns and want to help me fight back against the Tory attack on the NHS then please consider signing up to my campaign team.
