As I am sure you are aware, on 23rd of June there will be a referendum to decide whether Britain should remain in the European Union.
It has been over 40 years since we last held a vote like this and it could be a once in a lifetime chance to shape the future of our country and decide Britain’s place in the world.
I want as many Bolton residents as possible to engage with the debate and make their decision, and the first step is registering to vote.
If you aren’t already on the electoral register, you have until 7th June to sign up for the referendum.
It’s a quick and simple process. Just go to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and it will take around 2 minutes of your time. You’ll need to know your national insurance number.
I know that this decision will play a much bigger role in the lives of my children and their children than it will for my generation. So it worries me that around one in four (1.5 million) 18-24 year olds have still not signed up to vote.
Don’t leave it to the over 50s to shape your future. Register to vote today and make your voice heard on 23rd June.
Please help to share this information and make sure as many people as possible take part in the referendum this summer.
